Data protection actThe Data protection Act primarily deals with personal information that is held about YOU by the Council. It places a responsibility on us to manage the way we obtain, process, hold, use, disclose and dispose of personal data, and are outlined in the 8 principles of the Act.

To make a request for access to your personal information

This is called a SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST (SAR). You are required to complete the SAR form, which you can download from the bottom of this page. We are entitled to a charge a fee not exceeding £10 for processing this request, this fee may be waived under certain circumstances. Please read the form carefully and enclose with this form appropriate identity to ensure the security of your personal information.
Once we are satisfied that the information supplied by you is sufficient and verification of your identity is proven we will conduct a search of our systems for your personal information. We are required to provide you the information subject to exemptions within 40 calendar days.
